I have completed the first layer of covering on my “big plane”, the 40-scale Extra 300S. Now I get to make it purty with colors and pinstripes! I did “just OK” with the covering. I learned a lot about how much sanding/smoothing and prep work I should do before covering… hasty glue and sanding clearly shows through the cover. It definitely is something that would get better with experience. I have some wrinkles and bubbles in the covering here and there, but I think it turned out pretty well so far. it is definitely a pretty tedious affair.
The plastic bits still need another layer or two of paint before I can start trimming. And I have to paint fuel-proof dope all over the exposed wood bits. But I’m winding down to the home stretch!

By the way… did you see the size of the new Latencyproject offspring? Good christ… mutant babies are amok. The kid may as well have had a five o’clock shadow! “Can I get some Gin to mix with that formula, daddy?” LOL Gawd! I don’t think I’ll be able to look the Fembot in the eyes again knowing that behemoth passed her canal. rofl
